ANDEAN CULTURES - 12 days/11 nights in Peru & Bolivia

DAY 1 - Depart from Miami or Los Angeles to Lima, Peru. Arrival and transfer to hotel. (B).

DAY 2 — Half-day Gold & Larco Herrera Museum tour. The world famous Gold Museum has the private collection of Mr. Miguel Mujica-Gallo, consisting of fabulous gold objects and precious stones dating back to ancient pre-Columbian times and Larco Herrera museum with its immense and invaluable collection of Pre-Inca ceramics fashioned by the Mochica, Chimu and other civilizations. (B).

DAY 3 — Morning flight to Cuzco. Full day visit to the colorful Andean Villages, the Urubamba River, and local Pisac Indian Market. Continue up the Urubamba Valley to Chillca and to the highlight of this day, a visit to the fortress of Ollantaytambo. Lunch will be served at a quaint local restaurant. Overnight. (B, L)

DAY 4 — Up early for a three hour train trip through the Urubamba Valley to the mountain-top of Machu Picchu and a guided tour of the ruins. Lunch. Overnight with breakfast included. (B, L)

DAY 5 — Morning to further explore the ruins on your own or to climb Wayna Picchu Mountain, right next to Machu Picchu. Afternoon return to Cuzco and transfer to hotel. (B).

DAY 6 — Half day city tour and nearby ruins, including the Cathedral, main Inca streets, Koricanch Temple and the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Quenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay (The Inca bath). (B)

DAY 7 — Early morning departure to La Paz. Arrival and transfer into Hotel. The City of Contrast is a unique blend of civilizations located within a magnificent mountain panorama. Indian markets, colonial museums, Tiwanacu art collections, the Witch Doctor's Market (Yatiris), and the Moon Valley are part of our city tour (B).

DAY 8 — Half day Tiwanacu ruins, the capital of a once great civilization, which reached its splendor around 700 AC. Ruins of aqueducts, temples, and famous Gate of the Sun, which is carved with symmetrical figures, represent only 20% of this city, still being excavated (B)

DAY 9 — Departure to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Take the hydrofoil from Huatajata to Copacabana Island visiting Sun & Moon Islands. Overnight and dinner at hotel (B, L, D)

DAY 10 — Visit the Indian Chapel, Kallawaya Museum, Uros-Chipaya mud igloos, and floating Islands, all displayed within the hotel complex. Hydrofoil cruise from Copacabana to Puno. Overnight at hotel (B, L)

DAY 11 — Morning departure to Juliaca Airport for a flight to Lima. En route, visit Sillustani on Lake Umayo, to see "chullpas", the funerary towers of the ancient Colla tribe. Upon arrival in Lima, City tour, visiting the cathedral and Plaza de Armas with Government Palace nearby. Court of the Inquisition, Torre Tagle Palace and along the boulevard of the Republic to the flower market. Overnight at hotel (B)

DAY 12 — Transfer to airport for return flight to U.S or Amazon Cruise Extension
